The Chairman, Kickboxing Association, Ekiti State, Prince Adekunle Ogidi has encouraged the Ekiti contingent at the National Sports Festival not to be demoralized by their performance at the competition but return to training and make necessary corrections ahead of future outings.
Ekiti, came 17th out of the 30 participating states winning 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 10 bronze, leaving behinds states like Ondo, Kano and others which did not secure a single Gold medal.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti, Ogidi acknowledged the efforts and commitment of the athletes and encouraged them to remain focused, work harder in subsequent outing and believe in themselves.

The Kickboxing Chairman said: I congratulate Ekiti contingent for a job well done, I saw your efforts, commitment and resilience and I want to still assure you that I will fulfill my promise for kickboxers who won medals.
” We may not have achieved as much as desired, the future is bright, let’s learn from our mistakes, work harder and prepare for future games.
“There is nothing to worry about, you are all champions, we are proud of you.
Ogidi, appreciated, Governor Oyebanji for his support and investment in sports which he said is gradually yielding positive results.
He promised to continue to contribute his quota towards sports development in the state.
