….urges Governor Oyebanji to approve 100% CONHESS for members
While other workers across Ekiti State were busy having fun and engaging in social activities to mark the May Day, members of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, an affiliate of the Trade Union Congress converted the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, venue of the programme to an awareness ground.
The workers who were dressed in beautiful branded white Shirts, engaged workers on a one on one campaign on the need for them to make their children available for the forth coming polio outbreak response between Saturday 3rd and 6th of May 2025.
Addressing journalists, chairman of the Association, Comrade Temitope Olatubosun said the community health workers are committed towards assisting government to eradicate polio and other diseases in the state.
He said:”We are sensitizing workers on the polio outbreak response between Saturday 3rd and 6th of May, through out all the wards in Ekiti State we will be targeting all children from age Zero and Five as they will be administered with oral polio vaccine.
“We urged all workers to help in their respective communities and places of work to create awareness on the need for parents and Guidance to make their children available for the vaccine.
Comrade Olatubosun appreciated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the various welfare packages but called for the full implementation of COHESS for his members.
He promised that community health Practitioners would continue to work hard towards ensuring that Ekiti becomes a model in the area of health.
