…holds 7th Matriculation Ceremony

The Founding Rector of Ajayi Polytechnic, Ikere-Ekiti, Busayo Ajayi has said that the institution is committed to raising giants in the society through inclusive entrepreneurship and skill acquisition programmes.
He stated this on Wednesday at the 7th Matriculation/Induction Ceremony of the Polytechnic in Ikere-Ekiti.
No fewer than 350 students matriculated into the Higher National Diploma and National Diploma in the Schools of Finance Studies, Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration and Management.
According to the Rector, the Polytechnic has been promoting technical and vocational training and enhancing the transfer of technology for the economic development of the country.
He charged the students to attend classes regularly, shun all forms of distractions and other vices and focus on their studies noting that the Polytechnic is not a certificate factory.
His words: “You should also be aware that we are not certificate factory. Here, class attendance is very important. We have zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, among them, cultism, rape, robbery or theft and above all, examination malpractices.
“You are advised to remember the oath you have taken today. Please, be warned that any breach of the oath that you took will attract appropriate sanctions.”
In his goodwill message, Oba Adejimi Adu, Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, represented by High Chief James Alonge charged the students to be self reliant and be committed to their studies.
In the same vein, JAMB Coordinator in Ekiti State, Hassan Lawal said that the Polytechnic is a blessing to this generation adding that they conducted all the admissions in accordance to JAMB.
He urged the students to be good ambassadors of the State and study hard to achieve their set goals.
The Chairman, Governing Council, Prof. Michael Alonge, represented by Francis Adu cautioned the students against any form of cultism saying that “we are here to train you with practical life skills. This school is not for lazy people. I am very sure you will work hard to achieve your goals. You must obey the rules and regulations here. This is a noble institution that has zero tolerance for cultism.”
Speaking with newsmen, some of the students expressed joy and happiness to be bonafide students while promising to be studious to make their parents and the State proud.
