The Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has partnered with the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Development, Hon. Adesola Adebayo Gold, for girlchild and women development.
This followed a strategic meeting between the newly elected NAWOJ executives and the Commissioner held in his office today.
According to the NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs. Adewumi Ademiju, the meeting was for familiarization and to seal the collaboration.
She said NAWOJ’s advocacy goes beyond the media; it includes sensitizing the public on issues concerning the girl child and women’s development.
Commissioner Adesola Adebayo welcomed the idea of a partnership, emphasizing the ministry’s open policy and readiness to collaborate.
He requested that NAWOJ share their plans and programs, ensuring his office is involved in their activities to synergize efforts for the growth of youth in Ekiti State.
The delegation introduced the new executives and solicited support for NAWOJ’s programs, including the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 and the upcoming Female Southwest Convention, which rotates among states and will be hosted by Ekiti.
