…. threatens to take legal action against group for venomous damages
The Leader of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, Ekiti State, Mr. Fred Ifedayo Iyaniwura has taken a swipe at the current leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council IPAC, Ekiti State over a malicious statement issued against his person and purported abeyance from the Council, even when he has ceased to be an active member since 2022.
To this end, Iyaniwura has given a seven days ultimatum to the concerned persons to make public apology and retract the statement was used in the media or face legal action.
IPAC had in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Adedayo Ademola make public the abeyance of Mr. Iyaniwura over unverified allegations and attack his personality.
However in his reaction, Iyaniwura noted that the concerned persons are disgruntled, ravenous and hungry elements who are only trying to seek undue attention.
He noted that the concerned persons were only been pained by his success and elevation over the years hence they connived to use falsehood to drag his name, out of jealousy and envy.
The statement reads:”My attention has been drawn to a malicious statement issued by the leadership of Ekiti IPAC and signed by the so called PRO wherein a couple of lies and unfounded allegations were levied against me and my person was attacked.
” At first, I didn’t want to honour them with a reply but for the sake of unsuspecting members of the public and my people who have inaundated me with calls.
“I have been part of IPAC leadership since 2015 where I served in different capacities in Ekiti State, this is from the position of State Publicity Secretary to the State Chairman till 2022 when I emerged as Governorship candidate in the 2022 Governorship Election in Ekiti State, as a matter of fact, I singlehandedly brought in the current chairman of the Council who has now turned against me due to paltry gains.
“There has never been any instance where I was invited by these people for any interview, their pain has been how I have continued to gain relevance in the scheme of things in Ekiti and how God has continued to elevate me. I have managed to keep my head straight without joining issues with anyone.
“I hereby implore the general public to disregard all allegations by these enemies of progress, I am a man of integrity and I will not engage in any act that will impair or shatter my hard earned reputation.
“IPAC is a conglomeration of Political Parties with a determination to encourage political engagement first, within the political parties, and then between Political Parties and INEC. The organisation came on board when Nigeria had 92 Registered Political Parties, many of these Political Parties have no traceable address at the Federal Capital, which later led to the deregistration of 74 Political Parties, before this deregistration, the commission decided to encourage an emergence of an Organisation between these multitude political parties, so that the commission would easily be able to reach out to these Political Parties through the Organisation, this organisation is called IPAC, with a lay down Objectives under section 3(1) of its Code of Conduct to promote mutual interest of the political parties, to also promote dialogue and adjudicate between and/or among political parties, and to give advice to INEC in the discharge of its functions. So therefore, IPAC is not a hub for hungry individuals refering to themselves as Politicians in Ekiti State.
