Okada Chairman Condemns Killing of Member in Ekiti, Demands Probe

…says victim was a committed servant

The State Chairman, Ekiti State Okada Riders Association, Mr Kunle Ashaolu has condemned the gruesome killing of his member, Omoyajowo Samuel by unknown gunmen in Ado Ekiti.

Recall that that Omoyajowo who was one of those issuing tikets to commercial motorcyclists in Okesa area of Ado Ekiti was shot dead on Tuesday in broad daylight by some unknown gunmen.

Ashaolu, who condemned the killing of his member by the unknown assailants described the act as unfortunate and barbaric while calling on the Nigeria Police, Ekiti State Command to fish out the perpetrators.

He went further to commiserate with the deceased family and promised to cater for the family adding that the Late Samuel was a very dedicated member.

“When I had the news, I was sad. I have not been myself because I was shocked since I had the news.

“I urge the Police to fish out the killers and I commiserate with the family of the deceased because the young man was very good to us.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely death and we pray to Almighty God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“I will advise my members to be very cautious in whatever they are doing, bearing in mind the family you come from. I will just urge them to be cautious.

“We discussed with the family on how we are going to cater for the burial arrangements, pay the bills for the mortuary and others. The union will do something for the children he left behind.”

On his part, the Branch Chairman of the Union in Mojere Ado where the deceased was a member, Mr Sodiq Akinola, who revealed that the deceased is a Muslim, called for the release of the corpse for burial according to Islamic rites.
