Atiku Abubakar has called on the Federal Government to take responsibility in protecting and securing the life and properties of citizens.
He expressed his sorrow at the raid on Yargoje village in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, which resulted in numerous fatalities and the kidnapping of defenceless women and children, on his X page.
In his post, he also noted the tragedy that befell four police officers and two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps who were killed while on duty.
He said, “Most worrisome to me is that these acts of banditry and terrorism have become routine, with the government seemingly helpless and nonchalant about it despite the enormous annual budget for defence.”
Sympathising with the families of Victims, Atiku calls on the government “to be alive to its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens”.
