The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has reiterated her commitment to reviving the Young Farmers Club in schools across the country.

This was disclosed at an event she hosted to honour the 2024 Children’s Day commemoration, which took place on Monday at the State House banquet hall in Abuja.

She stated that young farmers clubs will soon be established in state-owned primary and secondary schools around the country.

According to her, the project is part of an effort to promote farming among the country’s youth.

She stated that each child will have a garden at their school that they will care for, and that awards will be given to the school with the finest farm.

She stated that such an award will include the supply of laboratory facilities as well as the equipping of the school library.

Subsequently, the First Lady announced a N10 million grant to each of the schools that took part in the special Children’s Day celebration.

A total of sixteen primary and secondary schools from across the Federal Capital Territory participated in the event, which included cultural exhibitions representing Nigeria’s diverse and rich traditions.

The President’s wife gave each of the schools with a demo cheque for N10 million.
