POLICE ARREST TWENTY SUSPECTED YORUBA NATION AGITATORS

Twenty suspected members of the separatist Yoruba nation’s agitation group have been arrested for attacking Oyo state government secretariat agodi Ibadan.

The Police Public Relation Officer Adewale Oshifeso made this known in a release made available to radio Nigeria.

According to him, the suspects who were on military camouflage came “heavily” armed in an unregistered silver colored Nissan urban caravan bus.

Sixty seven cutlasses, three pump action guns, 291 cartridges, five bullet proof vest, 6 pair of boots, 10 megaphones, three Oodua styles beret caps and Oodua nation agitation flag were found on them.

The release says they were overpowered by security agencies that quickly responded to the emergency call.

Also, the press statement noted that the Commissioner of police has detailed a highly powered investigation team led by Deputy Commissioner Of Police in charge of state criminal investigation department to unravel circumstances surrounding the incident.

The release adds that the Oyo state police command urges residents to be generous with information and cooperate with the command in a bid to rid the state of criminal elements who intend to propagate the separatist agenda.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government House Agodi -Ibadan was attacked early this morning, Saturday.
