PROPHET JAMES OMITADE WRITES ABOUT DESPERATION BEING THE EVIL OF ALL TIMES

Time takes care of everything in our lives: marriage, schooling, work, business, attainments in the social life and even the hours of our departure from the planet earth. Why then are humans beings so desperate to do all things at all cost? Our world would have been a better place if we allow time to take its proper place in our lives. Most of the desires we lust after desperately never add a cubit to our lives. In fact several people have had their lives cut short because of these wants. We can never accurately take account of the enormity of the incidents and accidents our untamed desires have caused in this world. Innumerable deaths, divorce cases, imprisonment, displacement, rancour, war, genocide, untold hardships to others, etc have been the results of desperate, importunate and uncultured desires.
The bible is replete with numerous stories of acute urge for quick wealth, position, property, concubines, power etc. Most people leave well paid jobs with promises and job security just to travel out of the country (japa syndrome as it is called). Almost every civil servant, businessman, academic, artisan, politics etc who want to make it have found themselves in cultic groups just because they want to get to the top in life or they want to make it quickly like jumping and running before they can walk. The bible in Proverbs 22:1 says ” A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favour rather than silver and gold”. Everytime I stumble upon this scripture, I wonder if it could be possible for most of us to revert to the past. Nations and peoples are ruined just because of the greed of just a few. Many talents and dreams have been destroyed while visions of promising people have been consumed by the vampires of avaricious tastes.
The bible in Proverbs 16:25 says ” There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of are the ways of death”. If Absalom knew that the father’s position he coveted would end his life abruptly, he would have restrained himself. Judas Iscariot thought he could be rich with his lustful inclination for money, his expected Jackpot led him to his untimely death through suicide. The Amalekites in 2samuel 1:5-16 thought he could receive huge favour from king David and lied and had himself killed for this. Adonijah, David’s first son would have lived long but his crave for power and women mortgaged his life and consigned himself to early grave. Many people have taken vows and covenant they can never fulfil and cursed their destiny and their generations. Some make vows and promise ladies they will marry them, just to have their way in their lives, some men as well promise their first wives till death do us part only to elope or add harems to their families and they know peace no more.
Salvation is very far from as many people as possible. How many people have the knowledge of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ how much more use it for their lives? Pastors, prophets, evangelists, different categories of general overseers and ‘men of God’ have soiled their hands, their names and their churches in one mess or the other because of desperate ambitions, urges, greed, unhealthy competition and rivalry with their ‘unholy’ peers in the ‘ministry’. Let me warn you in this life, nothing is compulsory. God granted you the permission and opportunity to come into this world to have a befitting life. Why then should you make God regret giving you this chance? A good number of the foetuses conceived when your mother conceived you ended up as miscarriages. Some died at birth, a good majority ended up through infanticide. They did not celebrate any birthday before leaving. Now that you are grown up, can you enumerate the misfortunes that have come upon your age mates, classmates, townmates, school mates of different categories? Yet you are displeased with the level you find yourself!.
Why not give your life unto Jesus Christ and bury your head in the scriptures? The promises God proclaimed upon your destiny the day you came to this world can only be fulfilled through your obedience to God’s commandments. The covenants of curses in your foundation and the one you called upon your life are enough to prevent you from making a headway in life. Lean on His commandments if you need life. The bible in Proverbs 10:27 says “The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened”. Its good to have an ambition but you have tried and it’s not working, leave unto God . God bless. Shalom.
