Olive Grange Foundation commissions borehole in Baptist Primary School, Igede

…as Foundation says it will promote hygiene among pupils, teachers

The Olive Grange Foundation, OGF, a non Governmental Organization focused in providing essential amenities to communities in Ekiti State has commissioned a newly borehole water project in Baptist Primary School, Igede Ekiti State.

Speaking on Wednesday at the commissioning, the Chairman of OGF, Dr. Aderonke Oshungbohun, a medical practitioner said the gestue was to provide drinkable water to the pupils and maintain good health among them, teachers and residents of the town.

“The project was initiated due to the urgent need for clean water, as the community was experiencing water scarcity. In addition to addressing the water problem within the school, the initiative aimed to extend access to clean water to neighboring schools, thus tackling the broader water issue in the school environment in Ekiti state.” He said.

Speaking virtually at the event, the Chairman Board Of Advisory, Pastor Abiodun Olaitan said that the borehole project would be beneficial to the people and the community at large while charging them to sustain it.

Also, the Foundation’s Project Officer Moyinoluwa Ogundowole noted that the foundation taught it right to provide good water for the pupils, considering their population.

“We look forward to the Institution and community members to sustain this water; even if we come in one month, 2 months or so we will meet the project in good shape. So the water should be sustained and Beneficial to both the students and the public.” She added.

In an interview, the Head Teacher of the School, Mrs Adesuyi Folakemi Christianah expresed happiness over the project, saying it would end the agony normally passed through by the students and community members before getting clean water.
