The fourth Ekiti State Youth Parliament has sought the support of media industry to scale up its activities towards actualizing its vision for youths in the state.
The Youth Parliament leadership appealed for synergy and partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council as co-developmental partners in advancing the course of youths in the state.
Speaking on Tuesday during a visit to the NUJ secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, Speaker of the fourth Ekiti Youth Parliament, Babatunde Olusanya said the move was necessitated for support in the area of publicity to project their activities.
He went further to solicit the support of NUJ in the training of some members of the Parliament who are into media so as to be equipped with ideas on how to promote the parliament.
On his part, Chairman, NUJ Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babatuyi pledged to support the Youth Parliament in ensuring their activities are well-reported to advance their agenda.
While congratulating the new leadership of the Youth Parliament, Babatuyi revealed that plans are underway to organise media training for youths, particularly students of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
The NUJ Chairman urged them to serve diligently and not compromise in discharging their duties as parliamentarians noting that they serve as voices of the youths in the state.
