APC stalwart Omotoso decries horrible killing of two Ekiti Monarchs

…mulls abduction of school pupils.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Engr. Ayo Omotoso has expressed displeasure over the gruesome killing of two Ekiti Monarchs in Ekiti North Senatorial District of the State.

The Convener of Ayo Omotoso Movement (AOM) and Chairman of Ayo Omotoso foundation said that the unfortunate incident that led to the death of the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunji Olusola; and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba Babatunde Ogunsola, who were returning from meeting at Irele-Ekiti on Monday, January 29 was horrendous.

Omotoso said “I was devastated when the news of the horrifying killing of two of our traditional rulers, and I heard that they were coming back from a security meeting, this is totally unacceptable and we should all rise to the occasion to put and end to the urgly incident”.

The Itapa Ekiti born philanthropist cum political juggernaut who extended his condolence to the families of the deceased and Ekiti people at large also sympathized with the Governor and Chief Security Officer of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on the loss of the Monarchs.

He urged the Governor to continue his good work and ensure that the activities of the men of the under world in the state were reduced to the bearest minimum and advised security agencies in the State to ensure the perpetrators of the gruesome killings are brought to book

Engr. Omotoso who lauded the Oyebanji’s administration for the relative peace being enjoyed in the State since inception of his administration urged the people to be security conscious and to assist the government and other security apparatus in their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

“It is important for all and sundry to be involved in the security of live and property knowing fully well that security of life and properties is not the sole responsibility of the government but also that of the general public to ensure a peaceful society.

Also reacting to the abduction of pupils of the Apostolic Faith School from their school bus in Ekiti state by an unknown
Gunmen, Engr. Ayo Omotoso said the trend should be squarely restrained to curtail the further spread of the urgly incident.

” The pupils were reportedly heading to Emure-Ekiti on Monday when their bus was said to have been intercepted at Eporo-Ekiti, and the pupils, a driver, and a teacher were kidnapped during the attack, this is uncalled for and I think as a people we should rise up against this darstardly deeds, Engr. Omotoso remarked.

The gunmen abandoned the school bus conveying the pupils after the attack.

The APC stalwart however, appealed to Ekiti people to be calm noting that Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other security agencies in the state were on top of the situation as efforts are being intensified to rescue them.
