Applicants for Ekiti State’s workforce has unveiled their opinion on the process of the ongoing state’s recruitment, saying that the recruitment process can be adjusted to digital space.

It could be recalled that the Ekiti state government released a memo, in the interest of resident applicants, with interest to apply for the position of education officers, notifying them to pick up employment form at the Internal Revenue Office, Oke Ori-omi, Ado-Ekiti.

The memo which was signed by Mrs Ogunlade B.G, Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Ado-Ekiti, captured the requirements for application at the different levels of employment such as teaching and non-teaching staff scheme.

In a cross session with ROUNDOFFNEWS some of the applicants commended the state government Initiative to employ youths.

Speaking with one of the Applicants, Sunday Ayeni, said, “This is a commendable effort from the Governor Biodun administration to get resident’s of the state employed, considering the rate of unemployed youths, and it is also a means to curtail crime in the state. Thank God it is a yearly approach, but this year is massive because millions of students are graduating annually.”

Also speaking with another applicant, Ade Oluwa Abiodun, who lamented about the process said, “The problem is the selling of this form, this is not commendable, N1,500 is much for somebody that is not employed. Even, the process is not encouraging, imagine we go to the bank to pay, we transport back here for other processes; this is something that can be controlled online and save us the stress. More so, I know all of us will not be given the job but let the screening be fair.”

Another applicant who pleaded anonymity, lamented the rigor of the process, she noted that things should be done in a more organised manner. “Why go through this stress when every process can be done digitally. The fact that we have to go through to 3 offices for codes that could have been generated online is frustrating.” She said.

Another applicant, Alabi Lolade expressed frustration as regards the long process expected of them to fulfil during the application process, adding that the present condition of the country has forced them to endure all the hurdles as there is no other way to survive without a good source of income.
