Some stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ward four, Akure South have appealed to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to consider the immediate past Chairman of Akure South, Mr Gbenga Olaniyi for cabinet appointment.
Speaking with newsmen in Akure, Ondo State Capital, spokesperson for the stakeholders, Chief Ishola Alade noted that the agitation was made due to the pedigree and outstanding performances of Mr Olaniyi during his tenure as Chairman of the council.
Chief Alade who is the APC Chairman in ward four, Akure South explained that they recommended Mr Olaniyi for appointment based on his experience as a professional lawyer, former council boss and administrator per excellence.
He pointed out that Mr Ayedatiwa would need him to use such experiences to contribute to the socio economic growth of the sunshine State in a way that all and sundry would benefit.
According to him, “we are agitating for him because we believe in him and we are sure that he will not disappoint the Governor if given the opportunity. He will support the good governance which the Governor promised to give to residents, irrespective of their political affiliation”.
“Olaniyi i know will go a long way to ensure that the Governor fulfil his promises to the people as well loyal to him come rain, come sun”

Chief Alade also explained that Mr Olaniyi had been playing pivotal roles in ensuring that members of the party enjoy dividends of good governance which made more people to join the rulling party.
