What’s wrong with us – Obi questions 2024 budget

The Labour Party (LP) 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi has critiqued the 2024 budget, saying that the budget made him question the state of the country.

Obi who did not pinpoint the alleged issues with the budget, revealed his dissatisfaction on his X handle @PeterObi.

He said, “Even as I am still studying the 2024 fiscal budget as presented to the National Assembly last week, I cannot wait as I am compelled to ask: what is exactly wrong with us as a country?”

ROUNDOFFNEWS reported that sectoral allocation includes N3.25 trillion for security and defence, N1.33 trillion for health and 2.18 trillion for education. In total, the federal government allocated 12%, 5% and 7.9% for the security, health and education sector, respectively

“The budget is based on parameters such as oil price benchmark of $77.96 per barrel, daily oil production estimate of 1.78 million barrels per day and exchange rate of N750 per $1 for 2024”, according to Leadership Newspaper.
