Ekiti Becomes Very Hot For Criminals as Police Parade Another 19 suspects

Barely two weeks after the command paraded about twenty suspected criminals and cultists, another suspects numbering about twenty have again been arrested and shown to the press.

This development has certainly confirmed the regular promise of the current CP, Dare Ogundare to make Ekiti a forbidden place for criminals.

Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the CP vowed to put more more strategic surveillance to arrest more suspected criminals in the state not minding how highly placed or connected in the society.

In his address, the CP said:”You would also recall that on Friday 22nd, September 2023 and on Friday 29th, September 2023, the Command paraded some criminal elements who were afterwards charged to court and are currently undergoing trial. I am here once again to brief you on some of the command’s breakthroughs within the past few days. Some of these successes are as stated hereunder:

“On 23 September, 2023 at about 2330hrs, the Command received a credible tip-off that there was a clash between two rival cult group members.

“Upon receipt of the information, the Command swung into action, mobilised to the scene and arrested five suspects namely: TAYE OLUBU a.k.a FIGO,ADELEYE TOPE a.k.a OMOLEGAN, AYINBIOWU SEYI a.k.a FASHOLA, FEMI AKANBI aka OLOWOPOSI and FAREMI GBENGA a.k.a DUDU while others took to their heels.

“Exhibits recovered from the arrested suspects are: two cutlasses and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

“During Interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed that they were members of Eiye Confraternity cult group and that the fleeing suspects are members of Aiye secret confraternity. Effort is ongoing for their possible arrest.

Similarly, “On 27th September, 2023 at about 20:00hrs, a commercial motorcycle rider was attacked in Ijero-Ekiti by a gang of armed hoodlums who initially disguised as passengers.
The victim was stabbed with a knife in his forehead and his Bajaj motorcycle valued #550,000 was snatched from him.

“Immediately the incident occurred, the Command operatives in collaboration with some sympathisers swung into action and trailed the hoodlums towards their escape route where three of the suspects namely: FUNMILAYO OLAWALE, FAYANRI GBENGA , and AHMED YAYA were arrested.

“During search in the houses and premises of the suspects, one Volkswagen truck, one Toyota Camry car, one Honda Power Bike, one Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle and three Tiger Generators reasonably suspected to have been stolen were recovered.

“Effort is underway for the possible arrest of the fleeing suspect’s and recovery of other stolen items .

3.On 3rd October, 2023, the Command Operatives arrested one Olamide Sunday a.k.a PEPPER and Adekunle Johnson aka COASTER for attacking one Akinlola Olawande and dispossessing him of his valuables such as: one Infinix Hot 10 phone valued #62,000, one Samsung S9 Phone valued #110,000, one MP3 valued #10,000, three Oraimo power banks valued 40,000 each and the daily sale of about #310,000.

“Investigation revealed that the arrested suspects are members of a notorious gang that specializes in attacking innocent citizens, inflict serious injuries on them and rob them of their valuables.

“On the 9th October, 2023 at about 14:30hrs, the Command received a credible information that some hoodlums were sighted in their criminal hideout located along Iyin/Awo road.

Operatives were immediately deployed to the scene where five suspects, namely: FAJEMILEHIN OLAWALE, YAHUSA NOMOU, ABDULAHI LAWAL, SAMINU ABDULAHI and SIRAJU HASSAN were arrested while others took to flight.

Items recovered from them are some iron rods and window aluminium valued about five hundred thousand naira.

Investigation revealed that the items recovered from the suspects were part of stolen items from a house they burgled in Iyin-Ekiti the same day they were arrested.

“Equally, on 10th October, 2023 at about 08:00hrs, the Command operatives arrested one OLAIYA OLUWASEYI ‘f’, OMOTOSHO SEUN ‘f’ and AJAYI FUNKE ‘f’ for defrauding the owner of ANISCO FILLING STATION to the tune of #7,920,000 in Ilawe-Ekiti.

Investigation revealed that the suspects were pump attendants in the same filling station were the fraudulent act occurred.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the alleged crime and mentioned that the money was shared among them and used to solve personal issues.

Items recovered are: two generators, two 32inches plasma TV, two watching machines, two standing fans, one big industrial sewing machine, one electric iron, one oven toaster machine, one DVD player, empty carton of smart 6 infinix phone, one Star Time decoder, set of upholstery chairs, substance suspected to be charm and a sum of #250,000 suspected to be proceed of the stolen money.

The CP confirmed that all the suspects arrested will be arraigned accordingly.
