EKITI RESIDENTS COMMEND IFAS CONTRIBUTIONS TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

…as IFAS members hold quarterly meeting

Some communities in Gbonyin, Ekiti West and Ilejemeje Local Government Areas of Ekiti State have lauded the efforts of IFAS and EDFHO to ensure that residents of the communities enjoy good roads, quality healthcare and education.

The representatives of the communities gave the commendation during the quarterly meeting of IFAS held in Ado Ekiti.

According to them, the state of social amenities in the communities of Gbonyin, Ekiti West and Ilejemeje LGAs had received massive development through the efforts of IFAS.

Representative of Ile-Oni community in Aramoko Ekiti, Mr Okunlola Sikiru said that the community benefited a lot of things in the area of potable water and education through the efforts of IFAS.

Also, representative of Ipere in Ilejemeje Local Government, Mr Bankole Oluwasegun noted that the community had been seeking for corps members in the last four years to be posted to the town, saying such had been made posible by the assistance of IFAS and EDFHO.

However, representative of Aba Osun in Ekiti west, Mr Ahmed Kazeem called the attention of concerned authorities to the state of health centre in the community and requested for borehole in order for residents to have access to portable water.

Also, representative of Ajebendele community, Gbonyin Local Government, Samuel Adebayo said the town lacked portable water and majority of its roads are in bad condition.

Earlier, the Chairman of IFAS, Mr Ayo Ilesanmi urged members to contribute their quota to achieve the aims and objective of IFAS in Ekiti State.

In his speech, the Executive Director of EDFHO, Sir Olu Ogunrotimi appealed to representatives of various communities to be up and doing so that their community can be developed, saying efforts were in top gear to ensure that all demands of the communities were attended to by EKCIDA and other relevant agencies.
