The representatives of the Ekiti Youth Parliament has urged the Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon Adedayo Adesola to focus on capacity building, retraining and re-orientation of the youth bloc in the state.
They said this during a congratulatory visit to the Hon Commissioner for Youth Development, in his office in Ado-Ekiti.
Highlighting the many commendable initiatives, the Speaker of the Parliament, Rt Hon Toba Fatunla said it has implemented since 2019, ranging from walk against crime, economic empowerment summit, Parliamentary Sittings, advocacy visits, secondary school visit for capacity enhancement of students among other laudable initiatives.
The Youth Speaker enjoined the Commissioner to ensure support for youth organizations in Ekiti State so as to be able to achieve youth development in the right sense.
They went further to present a proposal on suggested programs to enhance short-term and long-term Ekiti Youth Development.
The Hon Commissioner, while commending the Parliament reiterated his commitment to focus exclusively on youth development and that, many programs are in the pipeline to put youth at the forefront in Ekiti State.
