The Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Ekiti State chapter, has congratulated the Ekiti state Governor-elect,  Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in the just concluded election.

This is contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the union, Comrade Joel Akinola and the Secretary  Comrade Azeeze Agbaje.

The Comrade Ajinola and Agbaje  assured the governor-elect of the union’s support for his administration towards making the state better.

The Statement reads: “On behalf of the entire pensioners of Ekiti State, we are writing to congratulate you on your well-deserved success at the just concluded Governorship election in the State.

“No doubt the journey was herculean, but your humility, remarkable antecedents and genuine desire to serve the State endeared you to the hearts of the citizenry.

“The Union is assuring you of its readiness to support your administration in moving Ekiti State forward.

The pensioners  however called on the incoming governor to prioritise their welfare and pay up outstanding arrears of pensions and gratuities as promised.

“We wish to remind you sir that you are on a divine mission.

“It is our belief that our prayers for you when you met with the leadership of the Union during your campaigns, your fervent belief in God, coupled with the love the people had for you, really worked together for your outstanding success.

We plead that your administration should please prioritize the welfare of Ekiti State Pensioners, especially in the payment of the outstanding arrears of pensions and gratuities.”
