…distance themselves from Kangaroo protest
Some youths in Usi Ekiti, Ido Osi Local Government on Thursday took to the street of the community to show their support and loyalty to one of their community leaders, High Chief Ajayi Ibikunle based on his love and support for the youths.
During the solidarity rally, the youths in their large number dissociated themselves from the protest said to have been carried out by some people in the town on Wednesday against the renowned High Chief.
The youths said they were shocked to hear on the media that they protested against the man who they described as their benefactor and a true lover of the masses.
Some of their leaders, Mr Salami Sarafa, Mr Ismaila Taofiq and Mr Kayode Michael explained that many of them were living on the benevolence of the community leader and would not do anything against his progress.
According to them, the contributions of High Chief Ibikunle to youth and community development is very obvious, how can we protested against such person.
” We see the yesterday protest as mere child play which can’t in any way take our loyalty from our benefactor, High Chief Ibikunle”
Youths are not part of the people who protested against the Chief.He is our benefactors, he always support us. So, we can’t do that.
The youths described the misunderstanding that led to the alleged protest as a pure family matter and has nothing to do with their relationship with High Chief Ibikunle.
In his response, High Chief Ibikunle thanked the youths for their support and recognition given to him with a promise that he would not relent in effort despite the various distractions.
He promised to continue to contribute to the peace and development of the community.
