Ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State, a Non Governmental Organization, Pan African Women Projects has called on the major actors in the election to shun any action that can undermine the integrity and credibility of the exercise.
Speaking at a press briefing in Ado Ekiti, Head Mission, Pan African Women Projects, Dr Eben Udensi explained that for the election to be generally accepted, all stakeholders must guide against any illegality and unwholesome practice.
Dr Udensi called on electorate to go out and exercise their franchise without fear of intimation and shun voting trading.
She said the money they would be given by politicians during election would not be enough to cater for their needs in within the period of the dispensation.
Dr Udensi advised them to vote for credible candidate that would solve the socio economic problems facing the state.
She used the forum to call on security agents to prevent fake observers from monitoring the election, saying most of them have been moving round the state.
Dr Udensi alleged that fake observers were used by politicians to share money during the election and commended efforts of INEC so far to make the election preparedness so far.
The Head of Mission, Pan African Women Projects urged residents of the state to maintain peace during and after the governorship election.
Also, spokesperson for the Lead Trustee International Leadership Initiative, representing INEC Accredited Domestic Observer Group, prince Stadford Bisong who lamented over the political crisis in the state recently called on security agents to forestall any breakdown of law during the poll.
Prince Bisong called on people of the state to embrace peace and obey the electoral guidelines.
