…family of victim demands justice
A young commercial driver from Ikere Ekiti known as Dada has been arrested by the police for allegedly beating up a 67year old man Babatola Falana.
The driver in his thirties was said to have inflicted terrible injuries on the man’s head, mouth and other parts of his body.
Roundoffnews gathered that the incident happened at a filling station along Ikere Road.
According to one of the children of the victim, Tope Falana:”My dad went to buy fuel at Topline Filling Station along Ikere Ado Road, Ikere Ekiti. He mistakenly scratched the driver’s car but all efforts to persuade him proved abortive as he pounces heavily on the old man.
Tope Falana explained that his father has been referred from Ikere General Hospital to Afe Babalola Multi-purpose Hospital for further treatment.
He called on the police to ensure that the driver face the full wrath of the law to as to serve as lesson to others.
According to him, it is the usual habit of commercial drivers to take laws into their hands saying something must be done to correct the situation.
