Ekiti Vigilante Arrests Suspected Burglar

By Precious Oham

Men of the Ekiti State Vigilante group have nabbed a suspected criminal who specialises in breaking into shops and houses to cart away electric wires.

The suspect met his waterloo when the vigilante group laid ambush after residents reported the incessant attacks in their area to the vigilante group.

Confirming the arrest, State Commander of Ekiti State Vigilante group, Akin Olorunloni said the incident has always been occuring adding that his men laid ambush in the early hours of today to arrest them.

He said: “Early this morning we arrested this young man where he was burgling and carting away all the Electric wires that are run on the wall in a new house while the house owner has spent a lot of money to do the electric wire.

“This is the third time it has been happening. They reported to the Vigilante and we laid ambush on them. Fortunately, we caught one of the thieves and we have handed him over to the authority.

“We plead to the people who are just building houses that have spent a lot of money on it to guard it with monitors so that it will not be burgled and not to waste all the money spent.

“There are many of them that specialize on how to remove and cart away electric wires in new house.”
