Two years after she was allegedly implicated in a same-sex relationship in Ibadan, Oyo State, the woman identified as Oluwatoyin Oluwadamilola Ajayi is still at large, with the police confirming that efforts to locate her are ongoing.
Ajayi was allegedly identified following an incident reported on April 27, 2017 at a hotel in Ibadan, where two women were reportedly apprehended over an alleged same-sex relationship.
According to the police account, one of the women was apprehended at the scene and subsequently gave a statement which allegedly implicated Ajayi.
The police said Ajayi, however, escaped before the arrival of its officers and has remained at large since then.
Two years after the incident, the Command said it had yet to apprehend the woman, adding that efforts were continuing to establish her whereabouts and invite her for questioning.
The police said information obtained during the investigation indicated that Ajayi was known within the community where she was said to reside, adding that residents had previously raised concerns about her alleged conduct.
The Command stressed that the matter remained under investigation and that any further action would be taken in accordance with the law.
Police authorities also appealed to members of the public with useful information about Ajayi’s whereabouts to contact the Command.
The suspect risks fourteen years imprisonment if apprehended according to Nigerian law.
