The Ekiti State University, EKSU, main auditorium, on Thursday, came alive with colourful musical performances by the institution’s band group at the 27th Convocation ceremony.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the band group left no stone unturned to relentlessly dazzle the audience with heart-warming songs and syncopated fanfare tunes.
Speaking with our correspondent, stakeholders at the occassion noted that the band added beauty and glamour to the ceremony.
Some of them called on the school management to support the band with more modern equipment that could enhance their performances in and outside the institution.
According to Ademola Ajayi, “Performances like this helps to grow the institution and the Nigerian music industry. When you look at the entertainment industry in the country today, you will realise that a very high percentage of musicians passed through this stage. Some of them passed through the university and some have risen to become great performers.”
Another respondent, Mrs Kemi Olayinka noted that with the necessary support and encouragement to the band group, they will do exploits and bring fortune to the institution.
While urging the school management to map out programmes aimed at supporting them with the necessary equipments, she noted that these skilled students and staff through their scintillating performances showcase the talents that lie within them.
