Promises robust representation if elected
Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP for the seat of the Ekiti North Federal Constituency one, Hon. Bimbo Daramola has appealed to peoeple of his constituency to vote overwhelmingly for him during the forthcoming election not minding his party.
Daramola was a prominent member of the rulling All Progressived Congress APC, untill six months ago when he joined SDP on the excuse that APC had lost touch with the people and drifted from it’s ideology due to god fatherism, high-handedness and impunity.
According to Daramola, the elections of 2023 should be decided based on competence, experience and past records rather than voting for party, which he described as a baited trap.
The house of representatives candidate spoke in Ado Ekiti during a programme tagged Ekiti State Media Meet and Greet with Congressman, Bimbo Daramola.
Hon. Daramola explained that he has all it takes to represent the people well considering what he did during his first term barely a decade ago.
According to him, “During my first term at the green chamber, I touched many lives through construction of Hospital, employment opportunities for youths, provision of free JAMB form, education support for indigent students coupled with various mouth watering empowerment programmes.
” I have assisted a quite number of APC members who were in dire straits at various moments even when their party abandoned them, why should such people still want to vote for APC, it is not about where we come from or where we belong, it is about what we stand to gain.
“I will be going to the house as a ranking member and this will afford me opportunities and privileges to be on the deciding table where I will be able to get better things for my people.
Speaking on vote buying, Hon. Daramola noted that poverty had been weaponized but appealed to his people to reject any form of inducement because of its future consequences.
He said:” Once you sell your vote, you won’t have the audacity to question them and they won’t care about you because they believe it’s a pure business transaction.
“I am not desperate in this election, but my only desperation is how to liberate my people out of poverty and bad governance,Vote for me, Daramola concluded.
