2023: EKITI REC SYNERGIZES WITH NSCDC

The Ekiti State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Ayobami Salami has restated the importance of working with Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps especially during elections.

According to him, the corps is well needed in the protection of Critical electorate and National Assets and Infrastructure of the Independent Electoral Commission nationwide.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner said this on Tuesday, during a visit to the State Headquarters of the Command along Ikere/Ado road, Ekiti State.

Professor Salami who was full of accolades on the past records of Ekiti NSCDC on election security management, expressed confidence in the command to do better as presidential and other affiliate elections are approaching.

He called on politicians to cooperate with security agencies during electoral campaigns and on election day so as to record credible exercise.

The Former Vice Chancellor of Technical University Ibadan who just resumed as the state Resident Electoral Commissioner thanked the State Commandant for cooperating with the State INEC.

In his reactions, the State Commandant Mr John Olatunde Fayemi thanked the newly appointed REC for visiting the Command and promised the Command’s unflinchingly support to the electoral umpire in accordance with electoral laws and the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria.

Fayemi who expressed the Command’s readiness for the forth coming elections, assured the REC that the Command will organize an in-house training for the officers and men that will be taking part in the election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner was accompanied by the Administrative Secretary Mrs Feyi Sase and other management team from Independent National Electoral Commission, Ekiti State.
