10th Senate: Sen Yari, others Shun Meeting Tinubu, launches counter meeting – Garba Claims

By Udesinanna Stephen

Following the crisis in the All Progressives Congress, APC because of the 10th Senatorial presidential race, Former Presidential Candidate and APC Chieftain, Adamu Garba has alleged that Senators-Elect Abdulaziz Yari and other APC Senators elect has led a division in the party.

He said that after Yari absented himself from APC’s Senators meeting with President Bola Tinubu, he has called for a counter meeting.

Garba said this today on his official Twitter handle @adamugarba.

Garba said, “With the exception of former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator AbdulAziz Yari; Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (Ondo) and Senator Elisha Abbo (Adamawa); all other Senators-Elect of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were at the Presidential Villa, Abuja along with Senators-Elect and House of Representatives Members Elect to meet with the President and Commander in Chief on the Nigerian project.

“It was however gathered that, shortly after the meeting, Senators-Elect Abdulaziz Yari, Jimoh Ibrahim and Elisha Abbo decided to confront the Tinubu administration by immediately calling for a counter meeting slated for 9 pm today (yesterday) at the Fraiser Suites, Abuja.”

However, Garba reiterated his support for Senator Akpabio who has been the Choice of Tinubu for a planned smooth ride between the Executives and the Senate house.

“I’m 100% supporting Senator Akpabio for the position of Senate President. He is our President’s choice, he is our party’s choice, and he should be the choice of every loyal party member within the 109.

“Where ever our President commands us to follow, we shall gladly obey. For renewed hope to succeed, loyalty must be a priority.” Garba said.
