1,063 corps members pass out in Ekiti in low-key ceremony

No fewer than 1,063 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 corps members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Ekiti State on Thursday passed out from the scheme in a low-key ceremony.

In her farewell message, the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Mary Nenna Chikezie charged the ex-corps members to utilise the skills gained from Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED.

She commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his support to the scheme in the state.

Chikezie said: “I would like to specially thank the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his laudable unstinting support to the scheme.

“While there may be a dearth of good virtues out there, I appeal to you to stand out, be one of the solutions to the world’s problems. Do not ever join the bandwagon.”

Meanwhile, speaking with a cross-section of the ex-corps members in Ado -Ekiti, they said that they hope to utilise the skills learnt after service.

President, Royal Embassy Fellowship, Samuel John advised the NYSC to consider the area of discipline of corps members before posting them to their Places of Primary Assignment.

Also, a member of Nigeria Innovative Engineers Scientists and Allied Technologist, NIESAT, Community Development Service, CDS, Okoro Trust said he intends to create wealth after here with the experience he gained from SAED.

On her part, Igonoh Sunday of the National Emergency Management Agency,
NEMA CDS said that NYSC has nurtured him and the society should be expecting unity being propagated by him.
